Unlike subject or listener honorifics, object honorifics use special verbs and nouns, which can seem a bit more complex. However, if you master the core vocabulary and usage, you too can use them skillfully!
1. 객체 높임의 개념과 중요성1. Concept and Importance of Object Honorifics
객체 높임은 문장의 목적어나 부사어에 해당하는 대상을 높이는 방법입니다. 주로 특수한 어휘를 사용하여 이루어집니다. Object honorifics are a way to elevate the object or adverbial phrase in a sentence. This is primarily done by using special vocabulary.
- 누구를 만나다 → 누구를 뵙다 / 누구에게 주다 → 누구에게 드리다 To meet someone → to 뵙다 / To give to someone → to 드리다
- 아버지께 말씀드리다 (말하다의 높임말) To speak to (honorific of 말하다) father.
예시: 할머니께 선물을 드리다. (To give a gift to grandmother.)

뵙다 [뵙따] (동사) | To meet, To see (honorific of 보다/만나다)뵙다 [boep-tta] (verb) | To meet, To see (honorific of 보다/만나다)
윗사람을 만나거나 찾아갈 때 사용합니다. Used when meeting or visiting a superior.
사장님을 내일 뵙겠습니다. (I will meet the CEO tomorrow.)
어머니를 모시고 병원에 뵈러 갔습니다. (I went to the hospital to see my mother.)
여쭙다 [여쭙따] (동사) | To ask (honorific of 묻다)여쭙다 [yeo-jjeop-tta] (verb) | To ask (honorific of 묻다)
윗사람에게 질문을 할 때 사용합니다. Used when asking a question to a superior.
궁금한 것이 있어서 부장님께 여쭤봤습니다. (I had a question, so I asked the team leader.)
모시다 [모시다] (동사) | To accompany, To take (honorific of 데리다/데리고 가다)모시다 [mo-si-da] (verb) | To accompany, To take (honorific of 데리다/데리고 가다)
윗사람을 데리고 가거나 모실 때 사용합니다. Used when accompanying or escorting a superior.
할아버지를 병원에 모시고 갔습니다. (I accompanied my grandfather to the hospital.)
참고: '주다', '보다', '묻다', '데리다' 등의 일반적인 동사를 윗사람에게 사용하면 실례가 될 수 있으니 주의하세요. Note: Be careful as using common verbs like '주다' (to give), '보다' (to see), '묻다' (to ask), '데리다' (to take/bring someone) to superiors can be considered rude.

부모님께 말씀드렸습니다. (I spoke to my parents.)

윗사람의 '밥' 또는 '식사'를 높여 부를 때 사용합니다. Used to refer to a superior's 'meal' or 'food' honorifically.
