Mike와 Grace는 한국에 와서 2달을 살았다. 한국동료들은 영어를 모두 잘 하지만 몇 몇 표현은 독특한 한국스타일의 영어라서 그 의미를 한번에 알아듣기가 힘들다고 한다. 한국식 영어단어 무엇이 있을까?

Mike and Grace have been living in Korea for two months. Although their Korean colleagues are all proficient in English, they find some expressions difficult to understand at first because they are unique Korean-style English. What are some of these Korean-style English words?

모닝콜 (Morning Call)

"나 내일 아침에 중요한 회의 있어서 호텔에 모닝콜 꼭 해달라고 했어."

"I have an important meeting tomorrow morning, so I asked the hotel for a wake-up call."

화이팅 (Fighting)

"이번 프로젝트 진짜 힘들었는데, 우리 모두 마지막까지 화이팅 하자!"

마인드컨트롤 [마인드컨트롤] Persuasion, Influence (often used in Korean; orig. Mind Control, which in English means self-control)

*사실 '마인드컨트롤'은 본인의 마음을 차분하게 관리하는 것을 뜻한다. 이럴 때에는 Self-control 이 그 의미에 해당한다.

*In fact, 'mind control' often refers to calmly managing one's own mind. In this context, 'Self-control' corresponds to that meaning.

원피스란 .. 한국여성의 워너비 패션이다 | The 'one piece' dress is... a fashion item aspired to by Korean women

"내일 친구 결혼식에 입고 갈 예쁜 원피스 새로 샀어."

"I bought a beautiful dress to wear to my friend's wedding tomorrow."
