경남도는 법무부로부터 올해 입국 농업분야 외국인 계절근로자 1만1340명을 배정받았다고 9일 밝혔다.
Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 9th that it has been allocated 11,340 foreign seasonal workers in the agricultural sector by the Ministry of Justice this year.
이는 지난해 7380명보다 154% 증가한 것으로, 2022년 외국인 계절근로자 도입 이후 역대 최대 규모다.

경남도는 농촌인력난 해소 방안 일환으로 상·하반기 시·군 농가별 수요조사와 계절근로제 홍보를 실시하는 등 계절근로자 유치를 위해 적극적으로 노력한 결과라면서, 도내 17개 시·군 4100 농가에 배치된다고 설명했다.
Gyeongsangnam-do explained that this is a result of active efforts to attract seasonal workers, including conducting surveys of demand from farms in cities and counties in the first and second halves of the year and promoting the seasonal worker program as part of measures to alleviate rural labor shortages. They will be dispatched to 4,100 farms in 17 cities and counties within the province.
외국인 계절근로자(E8)는 8개월 동안 고용이 가능하며, 농가주가 근로기준법에 따라 계약을 체결하고, 최저시급 일당 1만30원을 적용받는다.
Foreign seasonal workers (E8) can be employed for 8 months, and farm owners sign contracts according to the Labor Standards Act, receiving a minimum hourly wage of 10,030 won per day.
한 달 기준 최소 209만 원 이상을 지급하면 되기 때문에 인건비 절감을 통해 농가 경영비를 아낄 수 있다.
Since a minimum of 2.09 million won per month needs to be paid, farms can save on operating costs by reducing labor expenses.
