공정거래위원회는 15일 구글의 끼워팔기 혐의와 관련해 자진시정 방안이 담긴 잠정 동의의결안을 공개하고, 내달 14일까지 30일간 이해관계인 의견을 수렴한다고 밝혔다. 공정위는 의견수렴 후 전원회의를 통해 동의의결 여부를 최종 확정할 예정이다. 최종 확정되면 구글은 90일 이내 유튜브 라이트를 국내에 출시하게 된다.
The Fair Trade Commission (FTC) announced on the 15th that it has disclosed a provisional consent decree containing Google's voluntary corrective measures regarding allegations of tying practices, and will solicit opinions from interested parties for 30 days until the 14th of next month. The FTC plans to make a final decision on the consent decree through a plenary session after gathering opinions. If finally approved, Google will launch YouTube Lite in Korea within 90 days.
이번 시정 조치는 구글이 유튜브 동영상 서비스와 유튜브뮤직을 묶어 유튜브프리미엄(1만 4900원)을 단일 상품으로만 제공해 소비자의 선택권을 제한했다는 공정위의 판단에 따른 것이다.
